This website is operated by Asterlane Commerce LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company trading as Lanterntale. Throughout these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Asterlane Commerce LLC.

By using lanterntale.com (the "Site") or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them before you buy.

1. Who you are buying from

We are a small studio and we handle everything by email. Write to us about an order, a fault, a return, or a claim under clause 7, and we will normally reply within 24 hours.

2. Our products

We sell DIY wooden miniature kits that you assemble yourself.

• Kits contain small parts and are not suitable for young children. They are made for teenagers and adults.
• Craft glue and batteries are not included, as stated on each product page.
• Kits arrive unassembled. Product photographs show a completed build.
• Slight variation in colour and finish is normal, and screens render colour differently.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in Australian Dollars unless your region displays another currency at checkout, and include any sales tax we are required to collect. They do not include import duties or customs charges — see clause 5.

Payment must clear before we dispatch. We may change prices at any time, but not for an order we have already accepted.

4. Orders

Your confirmation email acknowledges your order; it is not our acceptance of it. The contract is formed when we dispatch the goods.

We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch — for suspected fraud, for stock problems, or where a price or description was published in error. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we refund it in full.

5. Shipping, delivery and import charges

Destinations, costs and delivery estimates are in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Estimates are given in good faith and are not guaranteed. Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or to someone you nominate to receive them.

The price at checkout covers the goods and the shipping charge shown there. It does not include import duties, customs charges or import taxes. Where these apply they are set and collected by your customs authority or carrier, and they are your responsibility.

At our current prices these charges usually do not arise, because most orders fall under the low-value import thresholds in Australia, Japan and South Korea. We cannot guarantee this — each country sets its own threshold and thresholds change.

6. Returns and refunds

Damaged, faulty, incorrect and missing items, and the limited cases in which we accept change-of-mind returns, are covered by our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in it limits clause 7.

7. Your rights as a consumer

Australia. If you are a consumer in Australia, the following applies and cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by these Terms:

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Anything we offer under our Returns & Refunds Policy is in addition to these statutory guarantees and does not replace them. To make a claim, email us at the address in clause 1 with your order number and a photograph or description of the problem. Claims are free.

Japan and South Korea. You have rights under your local consumer protection law, including in South Korea the statutory cancellation and return rights under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes them.

Elsewhere. Where your country of residence gives you mandatory consumer rights that cannot be contracted out of, nothing in these Terms affects them.

8. Safety

Our kits contain small parts and include low-voltage LED lighting. No kit is supplied with batteries. Follow the instructions in your kit, use only the battery type specified, keep small parts and batteries away from children and pets, and do not modify the wiring or power the lighting from another source.

If you use your own craft glue, follow that manufacturer's safety instructions.

9. Intellectual property

The Site's text, photographs, illustrations, logos and the Lanterntale name are owned by or licensed to us, and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or adapted without our written permission. Rights in the kit designs themselves rest with their respective manufacturers.

Photographing and sharing the models you build is welcome and is not a breach of this clause.

10. Using the Site

Do not use the Site for anything unlawful, interfere with its operation or security, scrape it at a scale that burdens it, or submit content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights. We may suspend access where we reasonably believe the Site is being misused.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site or our products. Our kits are intended for craft and decorative use.

This clause does not exclude, restrict or modify any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other consumer protection law that applies to you and cannot be contracted out of. Where our liability under such a law can be limited, it is limited at our option to replacing the goods, supplying equivalent goods, repairing the goods, or paying the cost of doing so.

12. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms. The version published here when you place your order is the version that applies to it, and we update the effective date above when we make a change.

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it. These Terms, with our Shipping Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy and Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about your purchase.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States.

This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. If you are a consumer in Australia, Japan or South Korea, you keep the rights in clause 7 and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
